Senior Minister Job Description QUALIFICATIONS: 1 Have a personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ and have been called into ministry. 2 Must be a student of the scriptures with the ability to communicate God’s word through preaching and teaching. 3 Must have a passion for the pastoral care of the church family. 4 Must have the ability to work in harmony with others. 5 Must have strong leadership/organizational skills. 6 Must have at least 5 years of experience in a ministry position in a church. 7 Must have at least a BA/BS Degree from an accredited Bible/ Christian college. 8 Must meet the Biblical qualifications for pastoral leadership (see 1 Timothy 3:1-10). PURPOSE OF POSITION: To work with the elders and other staff members in providing leadership for the congregation to pursue its mission of “Reaching the Lost, Teaching the Saved, and Repeating the Process”… all while striving to maintain the church’s core values of … Biblical authority, loving all people, faithful service, and unceasing prayer.
