About the Position Position Description We first and foremost believe in the teachings of Jesus Christ and the Bible as the inherent Word of God. Mechanicsburg Christian Church, an independent Christian Church follows the doctrine and teachings of the restoration movement. We believe in baptism by immersion as a public profession of faith to Jesus Christ.
Responsibilities:
Preaching
A student and lover of the word of God preparing sound and engaging Biblical messages with practical applications.
A skilled orator with the ability to teach and preach messages effectively.
Leadership
A person who inspires and motivates people toward spiritual growth using their spiritual gifts in living faithful Christian lives and having an influence on the community around them.
Works with the elders, board and church leadership in a spirit of unity to ensure shepherding takes place to meet the needs of the congregation and community.
Pastoral Care
Loves people and counsels with truth and grace for the benefit and glory of God.
Demonstrates the heart of a shepherd by actively guiding, loving and nurturing our congregation.
Qualifications:
Relevant education with a degree in theology and pastoral ministry is preferred.
