Overview

Home Visitor (Casual) role at Children's Institute. Provides in-home education, support and resource services to children, parents, pregnant women and families in accordance with their specific needs. Responsibilities

Collaborates with the parent to develop and implement an individualized program for the family in accordance with the needs of each child, including goals and objectives. Promotes parent-child bonding and nurturing relationships through developmentally and culturally appropriate interactions and communication. Develops and maintains case notes and reports; meets productivity standards and maintains an appropriate caseload to meet weekly client contact expectations. Assesses family needs, interests and strengths; assists in developing goals leading to self-sufficiency. Enhances family functioning by reducing risk and building protective factors. Maintains full enrollment for the assigned area through recruitment activities. Strengthens family knowledge of child development and ensures appropriate child-parent socialization. Assists in establishing and maintaining household management practices. Plans for continuity of care through the agency’s integrated services model; provides resources and referrals to community support as appropriate. Conducts weekly home visits using routines and activities in the home to achieve the goals of the IFSP and Child Individualized Goals. Maintains knowledge of ethnic and cultural differences to better understand client needs and provide appropriate services. Qualifications

Education & Experience

1 year of home visitation, early childhood services, or community-based programs experience. Associate degree in early childhood education, social work, psychology, childhood development, or a related field required. B.A in early childhood education or related field preferred. For Early Head Start Home Visitors only: complete required core courses or equivalent as outlined by the program. Other Qualifications

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation as required. Extensive travel (>50% of the time). Spanish / English / Korean bilingual preferred. Ability to handle confidential information; flexibility to work in a changing environment; ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, nights and weekends. Maintains patient privacy and PHI confidentiality; participates in performance quality improvement activities; sensitivity to cultural and socioeconomic characteristics. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; punctual and dependable attendance. Computer skills: Windows environment, ChildPlus or similar software. Contingencies & Certifications

New Hire Orientation; AB-1343 Sexual Harassment Prevention; Mandated Reporter; CPR/First Aid; Timekeeping & Attendance. Background fingerprint clearance; drug and alcohol screening; TB screening; education verification; reference checks. No required licenses; other required training as specified by employer. Compensation & Benefits

Compensation: $26.75 USD - $32.10 USD per hour. Generous paid PTO, 10 paid holidays, and company closure between Christmas and New Year. Medical, dental and vision insurance for eligible employees and dependents. 403b retirement plan with employer contribution; tuition reimbursement up to $4,500 per calendar year.
