The University seeks qualified candidates to join the College of Osteopathic Medicine (SHSU-COM) as full-time Clinical Faculty. The position reports to the Chair of Primary Care and Clinical Medicine and aims to improve the physician workforce in primary care and other shortage specialties in Texas. The role involves teaching, mentorship, clinical content development, research, and patient care, with opportunities for external clinical practice and part-time contracts. Location
Conroe, TX at the SHSU-COM facility. Responsibilities
Mentoring students, especially those interested in primary care or rural/community medicine. Developing clinical content for courses and clerkships. Participating in scholarship, research, and interprofessional collaboration. Teaching in various formats, including systems courses, physical exam, case-based learning, clerkships, procedural skills, OSCEs, and osteopathic manipulative medicine. Providing quality patient care and participating in faculty practice when appropriate. Qualifications
DO or MD from an accredited osteopathic or allopathic medical school. Successful completion of residency training. Current or eligible for Texas medical license. Board certification or eligibility in AOA or ABMS. Experience in clinical teaching and, preferably, osteopathic manipulative medicine. Skills and Other Requirements
Strong clinical and communication skills. Experience with medical education and curriculum evaluation. Ability to collaborate with faculty, students, and staff. Familiarity with Learning Management Systems preferred. Additional Information
