Temporary positions are anticipated for instructors to teach courses in areas such as Animal Ethics, Animal Behavior, Animal Genetics & Breeding, Aquaculture, Introductory Animal Science, Molecular Biology Laboratory Techniques. A list of the courses that may be available during 2025 - 2026 academic year are included. It is possible that courses may be added to or deleted from this list as the year progresses. Courses in Animal Science expected to be taught in the 2025 - 2026 academic year pending availability of funding: ANS 2 - Introductory Animal Science ANS 18 - Introductory Aquaculture ANS 104 - Principles & Applications of Domestic Animal Behavior ANS 170 - Ethics of Animal Use ANG 107 - Genetics and Animal Breeding ANG 111 - Molecular Biology Laboratory Techniques See https://catalog.ucdavis.edu/ for brief course descriptions. Appointment Dates Several appointments are made each year. The number of courses assigned for each appointment may vary depending on type of course and percentage of appointment. Service dates are: Fall Quarter 2025: September 22 - December 12 Winter Quarter 2026: January 2 - March 20 Spring Quarter 2026: March 26 - June 11 Reappointment is possible upon demonstrated competence and based on established criteria. Duties and Responsibilities Teach one or more lecture courses in the Animal Science major. Teaching may also involve special observational projects or guest speakers. General Information The Davis campus, third oldest in the ten-campus University of California system, offers a full range of undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs. The city of Davis is a progressive university town of 65,622 located in the Sacramento Valley, 72 miles northeast of San Francisco and 15 miles west of Sacramento, California's capital.
