Cardiac Monitor Technician - F/T Day/Night

Nuvance Health The Cardiac Monitor Technician is responsible for continuously monitoring cardiac rhythms of patients, identifying and reporting arrhythmias, and supporting clinical staff in maintaining patient safety and care. Shifts:
Rotating between day and night shift 8 and 12 hour shifts Sign on Bonus:
$7,500 for eligible external candidates with at least one yr of cardiac rhythm interpretation experience Responsibilities: Monitor Cardiac Rhythms: Continuously observes and analyzes cardiac rhythms on telemetry monitors for assigned patients. Identify Abnormalities: Recognize arrhythmias, heart blocks, and other cardiac irregularities, promptly reporting significant changes to the nursing staff. Document Rhythm Strips: Accurate documentation of rhythm interpretations, noting changes, maintaining patient records, and notifying nursing staff of the changes. Communication: Communicates to nursing staff as necessary in regards to proper lead placement, battery changes, verifying of cardiac rhythms and need for escalation of care. Equipment Maintenance: Troubleshoot telemetry equipment issues and escalate as necessary to biomedical support. Education, Skills, Experience: Successful completion of the 2-day EKG interpretation class. Must obtain a passing score of 80% or higher on the EKG interpretation exam within 90 days of hire. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in a hospital setting or Cardiac Monitoring Experience with interpretation of cardiac rhythms Education of the Philips monitoring system We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all qualified candidates.
