Description Summary: Purpose: The Registered Nurse (STA) at Nuvance Health adheres to nursing standards of practice, including assessment, care planning, interventions, and evaluation based on the plan of care guided by the ANA Nursing Scope of Practice. The RN performs according to state guidelines, unit-based scope of service, and institutional policies. Responsibilities Complete patient assessments and reassessments as needed. Document detailed information on the plan of care, interventions, and outcomes reflecting the patient's physical, mental, and emotional status. Ensure proper documentation based on the level of care, including transfer/discharge documentation. Follow the five Rights of Medication Administration, including patient and family education, assessing allergies, parameters, side effects, and effectiveness, and documenting responses. Coordinate and supervise nursing care, delegating tasks appropriately. Maintain accountability for delegated care. Promote a culture of safety by assessing risks, adhering to safety policies, and conducting bedside shift reports and rounds. Assess learning needs and provide education to patients and families, documenting responses. Provide care for specific patient populations as needed, respecting cultural diversity and maintaining dignity. Meet accreditation, regulatory, and compliance responsibilities. Engage in continuous learning and professional development, including mentorship. Adopt new practices and technologies quickly. Maintain resilience and flexibility to work in multiple departments and challenging situations. Willingness to travel and arrive punctually. Perform other duties within the nursing scope of practice and uphold Nuvance Health values. Other Information Performs additional duties as required. Working Conditions Manual skills: significant manual dexterity required. Occupational risk: significant. Physical effort: very heavy, up to 50 lbs exertion.
