Serve With Passion Innovate Relentlessly Engage With Integrity Build Community Be Accountable, The Journeyman Mechanic has the responsibility to troubleshoot major and minor mechanical problems, as well as have the ability to repair and adjust all necessary mechanical components. Work assignments will be received in the form of oral or written work orders, but the employee is expected to determine the nature and extent of needed repairs
Reports To
Shop Manager
Maintains, repairs and overhauls heavy vehicles and industrial equipment Interprets work orders and technical manuals Keeps equipment cleaned, lubricated and maintained Diagnoses faults or malfunctions Adjusts equipment and repairs or replaces defective parts, components or systems Obey all workplace health and safety and code of conduct workplace rules Undertake the training and assessment required under the training plan

ASE certifications are a plus Ability to perform physical requirements of the job Repetitive lifting, pushing, pulling and climbing Ability to drive truck with a manual transmission Ability to work in all weather conditions Needs excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity Previous CDL truck driving experience preferred Waste industry experience, a plus Completion of college or vocational or technical training Experience with routine maintenance operations is required
Physical Demands / Environmental Factors
Works under moderate supervision Requires lifting up to 50-75 pounds, pushing, pulling and bending Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds A valid driver license A valid CDL driver license is a plus Must be 21 years of age, or older A GED or high school diploma is required

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear Occasionally required to stand and walk Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus Sporadic local travel required
