Overview
Advanced Practice Provider-Licensed Clinical Social Worker/Licensed Professional Counselor (LCSW, LPC) at UVA Health. The LCSW/LPC specializes in addiction treatment and will provide individual and group therapy, recovery support for substance use, community engagement, and clinical consultation in the addiction treatment clinic. This role includes diagnostic assessment, ASAM evaluations, and collaboration with interdisciplinary treatment teams, participation in meetings and treatment planning, program development, and clinical supervision and consultation. Responsibilities
Provide direct social work services to patients and families and/or groups, assisting with social and practical environmental problems. Offer emotional support to patients and families experiencing anxiety and stress related to illness and hospitalization. Conduct interventions based on needs identified during initial assessment. Advocate for patient and family wishes when appropriate. Educate patients and families on the intent of interventions as needed. Inform care team of anticipated post-discharge needs and maintain knowledge of resources for continuity of care before and after discharge. Participate in in-service and staff development activities; serve on planning committees or contribute topics for educational programs. Document all casework, discharge planning, and follow-up activities in accordance with UVA policies and regulatory requirements. Participate in education/research activities and act as liaison between the hospital and outside agencies, referral sources, and legal authorities as needed. Provide individual therapy/problem solving sessions and serve as a therapist in daily therapy sessions. Possibly perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements
Education: Master’s degree in Social Work from a CSWE-accredited program required. Experience: 3 years of post-master’s experience required. Licensure: Licensed to practice as an LCSW in Virginia or applicants with an active license from another state must obtain Virginia LCSW within 18 months of hire. Additional Details

Position Range: $61,443.20 – $98,300.80 annually.
