Overview
UVA Health's Department of Psychiatry and Neurobehavioral Sciences seeks applicants for an LCSW or LPC who specializes in addiction treatment. This LCSW/LPC will provide individual and group therapy, recovery support for substance use, community engagement, and clinical consultation in our addiction treatment clinic. This position will include diagnostic assessment and ASAM evaluations, collaborative work with interdisciplinary treatment teams, including participation in meetings and treatment planning, program development, and participation in clinical supervision and consultation. Responsibilities
Provide direct social work services to patients and families and/or groups of patients by assisting with social and practical environmental problems. Provide emotional support to patients and families and/or groups of patients who may exhibit feelings of anxiety and stress precipitated by illness and hospitalization. Conduct interventions based on needs identified during initial assessment; advocate for patient and family wishes when appropriate. Provide emotional support to patient and family during hospitalization. Educate patient and family on the intent of the intervention as needed; inform the care team of anticipated post-discharge needs. Maintain knowledge of resources needed to provide patients with continuity of care before and after discharge. Participate in in-service and staff development activities by attendance, serving on planning committees and/or offering topics for pertinent educational programs. Document all activities relevant to casework, discharge planning, and follow-up in accordance with UVA and Social Work Policy, Procedure and Guidelines and regulatory requirements. Participate in education/research activities. Act as liaison between the hospital and outside agencies, legal authorities, and referral sources. Act as therapist in daily therapy sessions and provide individual counseling/problem solving sessions as needed. In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned. Minimum Requirements
Education: Master’s degree in Social Work from a CSWE-accredited program required. Experience: 3 years of post-master’s experience required. Licensure: Licensed to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the Commonwealth of Virginia (LCSW) or applicants with an active license from another state must obtain Virginia LCSW within 18 months of hire date. Job requires sitting for prolonged periods, standing, travel, or use of assistive devices and climbing stairs. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills; attention to detail; ability to hear, speak, read, and write legibly. Ability to lift/push/pull less than 20 lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease. Position Details
Shifts: Monday–Friday, no weekends or holidays. Hybrid flexibility with some work-from-home days. Position Compensation Range: $61,443.20 - $98,300.80 Annual Benefits
