We are seeking a Water Engineer / Hydraulic Modeler to join our Design & Engineering Teams in Columbus, OH. This position supports projects in the local and regional municipal market, using professional experience and technical knowledge of water distribution, wastewater collection, and stormwater systems modeling, design, and construction to assist project teams and pursue new opportunities. You will operate within Arcadis’ Resilience business area, which focuses on protecting water resources and supporting sustainable development. Role accountabilities
Perform engineering activities for water distribution, wastewater collection, and stormwater modeling, evaluations, investigations, planning, feasibility studies, design, and construction. This may include water and wastewater treatment facilities design and related utilities assessments. Assist with defining scope of work and objectives through research and fact-finding, ensuring project compliance with Arcadis practices and safety standards. Apply independent judgment on technical details and engineering alternatives to coordinate timely completion and submission of project deliverables, including reports, Construction Documents, specifications, bid packages, and cost estimates. Engage with industry associations, attend workshops, present, and review professional publications. Qualifications & Experience
You should be passionate about improving the quality of life, value teamwork, and bring technical capability in design of water infrastructure projects. Key qualifications and experience include: Hydraulic modeling and engineering experience for evaluations, investigations, planning, feasibility studies, and modeling (SWMM; C++ experience preferred) of water distribution, wastewater collection, and stormwater systems. Active participation in regional and/or national professional associations. Experience with HEC-RAS Modeling, HSMs Modeling, Groundwater Unsaturated Zone modeling, CFD Modeling, and Sediment Transport. Required Qualifications
MS degree or PhD in Civil or Environmental Engineering. Preferred Qualifications
Engineer in Training Certification (EIT) or ability to obtain within 1 year. Previous internship experience with an engineering consulting firm, municipality, or related organization. Experience with HEC-RAS, HSMs, CFD, and groundwater unsaturated zone modeling; Sediment Transport experience. Why Arcadis
