The Environmental Services (EVS) Senior Coordinator assists the supervisor with day‑to‑day operations, including scheduling and training of staff, monitoring quality and operating all equipment as necessary. The position is responsible for training team members, ensuring all essential functions are met, and serving as a working lead covering positions in Environmental Services. The role contributes to department quality initiatives and programs, and assumes shift and operational responsibility in the absence of the supervisor. Responsibilities

Conduct one‑on‑one training sessions using approved techniques, procedures, and educational materials. Provide instruction to new hires and current employees across various areas. Demonstrate technical skills for cleaning patient & non‑patient rooms, isolation rooms, critical care areas, ER trauma units, and ancillary areas, including restrooms, public areas, corridors, and other required spaces. Respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers using appropriate engagement techniques. Maintain accurate floor care logs and checklists. Mix chemicals according to instructions. Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and health care workers. Adhere to all Standards of Precaution, SDS, and Hand Hygiene directives. Complete all mandatory training as required. Participate in departmental quality assurance and improvement activities. Maintain productivity and volume standards for the assigned facility. Keep current with all policies and procedures of the hospital and the department. Exercise critical thinking skills, including prioritization of duties and immediate needs (stat cleans). Identify and utilize appropriate resources to ensure identified problems or concerns are followed through. Demonstrate knowledge of facility safety requirements. Operate and properly maintain all EVS tools and equipment needed to clean and disinfect the environment. Assist in onboarding new Environmental Services Technicians (I–V). Perform comprehensive oversight of the shift. Provide new hires with a 60‑day evaluation and assist with annual competencies. Interface with Supervisors, Office Coordinators, Operations Managers and Director. Qualifications

Education/Training

High School Diploma or GED DOT (Department of Transportation) Certification within the first 90 days of employment CSCT (Certified Surgical Cleaning Technician) within the first year of employment CHEST (Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional) within the first year of employment Experience

Five (5) years health care environmental services experience Analytical and oral communication skills Experience with Bed Management System Essential Functions
