Overview
Saint Francis Healthcare System is looking for a board-certified Physician Assistant or board-certified Nurse Practitioner to join the Trauma/Acute Care group. Trauma & Acute Care are fast-paced environments requiring critical thinking, attention to detail and confidence in decision making. The provider should have a strong work ethic and a willingness to practice at the top of licensure. Job details and requirements - Join a group of 4 employed Trauma Advanced Practice Providers - Completion of an acute care fellowship after master’s program, preferred - Previous ICU, OR, and procedural skills, required - Schedule: 13, 12-hour shifts per month with rotating days and nights, holidays and weekends - EMR: Epic Responsibilities Admit, discharge, and manage daily care of Trauma & Critical Care Service patients, in collaboration with the attending physician Oversee care of patients in the Trauma Follow Up Clinic Perform bedside procedures including: CVS placement (non-tunneled dialysis catheters and Swan-Ganz catheters), chest tube placement, thoracentesis, basic fracture and dislocation reduction, burn management Administer conscious sedation per protocol, perform ultrasounds for trauma and hemodynamic evaluation, PEG placements (excluding endoscopy portion), and act as Surgical First Assist for Acute Care Surgeons Education Graduate from a CAHEA or successor accredited program.
