Job Description Full‑time, nine‑month, non‑tenure‑accruing Lecturer position at the University of Florida’s Department of Sociology and Criminology & Law. The role focuses on legal decision making and begins August 16, 2026.

Responsibilities include teaching three Law & Society courses each semester (Law & Legal Process, Law & Society, Juvenile Law, Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure); supporting other undergraduate courses; advising students; engaging in undergraduate research collaborations; and participating in campus‑wide initiatives such as UF Quest and Beyond120.

Qualifications Required:

Ph.D. in Criminology, Criminal Justice, Sociology, or a relevant social science field by date of hire. A Juris Doctor alone is not sufficient. Demonstrated ability to teach effectively in face‑to‑face and/or online formats.

Preferred:

Demonstrated ability to teach multiple Law & Society courses in the undergraduate curriculum.

Experience teaching upper‑division Law & Society courses and for diverse class sizes.

Strong commitment to undergraduate education, advising, and research collaboration.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
