Advanced Practice Provider Cardiology
– Cardiology Ambulatory Practice Responsibilities Perform thorough cardiovascular assessments and history-taking for patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans for acute and chronic cardiac conditions including heart failure, arrhythmias, ischemic heart disease, and hypertension.
Manage inpatient cardiac care including diagnostics, therapies, and discharge planning in collaboration with the cardiology team.
Provide outpatient care including routine follow-ups, medication management, patient education, and risk factor modification.
Interpret diagnostic tests such as EKGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, and labs; initiate appropriate interventions or referrals.
Assist in invasive procedures and cardiac catheterizations when applicable and under supervision.
Document all patient interactions and care plans in the EMR accurately and timely.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical research, and continuing education to stay current with cardiology best practices.
Educate patients and families on cardiovascular disease prevention, lifestyle modifications, and treatment adherence.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program with specialization or experience in cardiology preferred.
Current NY State license and certification as an NP or PA.
BLS and ACLS certification required.
Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in cardiology or related field preferred.
Strong clinical assessment skills with ability to manage complex cardiac patients in both inpatient and outpatient environments.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
Preferred Experience Experience in both hospital and outpatient cardiology practice.
Knowledge of current cardiology guidelines and protocols.
Interest or experience in cardiac procedures or research.
Salary Range
USD $69.54 - USD $90.00 /Hr. The salary range noted does not include differential pay or the value of benefits. Catholic Health offers generous benefits packages, tuition assistance, a defined benefit pension plan, and opportunities for professional and educational growth.
