The Corrections Officer maintains discipline and order of incarcerated inmates in treatment housing areas and worker training sites within the county correctional facility. The officer provides a safe environment, enforces policies and procedures, and supports programs to assist inmates in personal growth. Officers may act as ex officio constable with general police powers, including arrests within the jail or during transports. Shifts may require working up to 16 hours on occasion. Responsibilities
Maintain discipline and order of inmates; enforce policies and procedures. Care for and manage inmate population within assigned areas. Respond to needs of the jail and support inmate reintegration programs. Work as ex officio constable with police powers as appointed. Qualifications
Must have a high school diploma or equivalency to qualify for NH Association of Counties "Corrections Officer Academy" Certification. Must be able to pass physical requirements of Group II Retirement Certification. Must possess a current and valid driver\'s license. Good writing and communication skills; ability to articulate clearly. Good interaction skills. Must pass polygraph test. Status and Schedule
STATUS/SHIFT: Full Time / Non-Exempt / Union SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL: 2nd Shift $1.75/Hour; 3rd Shift $2.00/Hour; Weekend Premium $3.00/Hour Employment Details
