Lead Buyer, Nike Direct – Jordan Footwear. Location: Beaverton, OR. Hybrid work options; Onsite: Mon-Thurs. Duration: 5-month contract. Be among the first 25 applicants. Jordan Brand North America is hiring a Lead Buyer, Jordan Footwear to be part of the Direct Merchandising Team & broader Direct Marketplace team. What You Will Work On
You will own bringing the Jordan Footwear seasonal assortments to life in Direct Channels, primarily focused on Digital. Understand the business, strategy, and marketplace to develop plans, coordinating between genders, brands (Nike & Jordan) and how individual products or collections impact each other. Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure assortment plans meet consumer demand and strategies execute. Develop consumer-centric assortment plans across multiple seasons, considering Nike Direct’s market position and competitive landscape. Participate in seasonal buy reviews and in-season trading to influence actions that optimize growth with key partners. Include assortment building and systems entry, allocation and planning. Who You Will Work With
We work closely with fellow merchants, buyers, and cross-functional teams within Nike Direct, including Digital and Stores Buying, Consumer Merchandising, Planning, Allocation, Visual Merchandising and Brand Marketing. Collaboration with finance, operations and insights/analytics teams is also required; relying on business reporting with quantitative and qualitative metrics on sales, inventory and consumer behaviors. You will report to the Jordan North America Direct Merchandising Director. What You Bring
Requires Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising, Business, Marketing, or equivalent experience in footwear or apparel merchandising, product creation, retail or multi-brand/digital environments (or 5 years additional related experience). Footwear, Apparel, Equipment or relevant consumer product merchandising experience. Understanding of retail and/or digital profit-based metrics such as sell-through, margin, AUR, UPT and similar indicators. Ability to contribute to and drive strategic thinking into action; proficiency in building consumer- and data-informed merchandising strategies and assortments. Comfortable speaking and presenting in large forums. Ability to analyze business and macro consumer trends to drive immediate action. Project management experience.
