Route Sales Representative (CDL‑B with Hazmat)

Job Summary As Route Sales Representative you will develop and maintain strong customer relationships by delivering hard goods and gas cylinders, retrieving empty cylinders, and performing warehouse duties on a scheduled route in Wilmington, NC. The work schedule is Monday through Friday. This position is physically demanding, time‑sensitive, and requires consistent, exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities and Duties
Safely load, deliver, and unload hard goods and cylinders containing compressed gases, and retrieve empty cylinders.
Maintain load manifests and all other vehicle documents.
Identify and monitor customers’ needs to maintain desired hard good and cylinder levels.
Operate forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment.
Strictly comply with all safety rules, DOT, and OSHA regulations.
Maintain a Class B CDL with HazMat endorsement.
Keep the truck interior and exterior clean and safe.
Perform counter sales and assist customers in the store when necessary.
Receive, ship, and perform required paperwork.
Fill cylinders in the pump room.
Assist with inventory, housekeeping, showroom displays, and demonstrations as required.
Other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
Class B CDL with HazMat endorsement preferred.
Experience handling compressed gases preferred.
Customer service or sales experience preferred.
At least 21 years old.
Must meet all physical qualification standards for truck drivers.
Excellent oral communication and attention to detail.
Excellent customer service and time‑management skills.
Excellent driving record.
Ability to lift 25–75 lbs. routinely; occasionally 76–100+ lbs.
Ability to work outdoors in varying temperatures.
Perform climbing, balancing, kneeling, crawling, pushing, pulling, and finger activities; frequent bending required.
Must operate in a drug‑free workplace.
