The Typar Key Account Manager focuses on developing relationships and programs that encourage large regional builders, national builders, dealers, distributors, multi-family developers, general contractors and architects to select Typar Construction Products over other competitive products for residential, commercial, mixed use and multifamily projects. The role emphasizes onboarding new dealers and distributors and leading demand creation efforts. These markets are strategically important to Typar’s growth, and we are looking for a passionate, knowledgeable national account manager with key influential relationships to drive incremental new business for Typar Construction Products. The Typar Key Account Manager will work with our agents, specialists and 2-step distributor partners to develop direct relationships with key stakeholders across the value chain to drive demand for all Typar Construction Products. Assessing how much time to direct to different groups depends on knowledge of construction and building segments. The role is to develop influential relationships with builders, developers, GCs, builders, architects and local industry influencers. The decision maker level is where the Typar Key Account Manager will be most effective to drive adoption of Typar Construction Products. Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Give AIA and other training presentations Makes sales calls on current and potential customers for products Communicate and present product information to customers at all levels of the organization Support regional inside and outside sales via design and implementation of selling aides and the selling proposition for dealers, installers, builders, architects Develop sales plan and conversion programs with coordination of Typar Senior Sales Director, Technical Manager and other Key Account Managers Establishes, monitors and controls product pricing and margins based on sales and management input Attend appropriate trade shows and industry association events Travel 60 - 90% in the sales territory Qualifications
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Marketing Management or Business Minimum five (5) years’ experience in field sales and/or marketing LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts (discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume) and apply basic algebra and geometry. REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
