Senior Audit Manager – Governmental
We are seeking an experienced Senior Audit Manager with a strong background in governmental auditing. The ideal candidate will oversee audit engagements, manage client relationships, and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations within the public sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage governmental audit engagements, including planning, execution, and reporting
Supervise and mentor audit staff, providing guidance on technical issues and professional development
Review workpapers, financial statements, and audit reports for accuracy and compliance
Develop and maintain strong relationships with governmental clients, ensuring high-quality service delivery
Ensure audits are performed in accordance with GAAP, GAAS, and Government Auditing Standards
Identify opportunities for process improvements and provide value-added insights to clients
Coordinate with regulatory agencies and stay current on changes in governmental accounting and auditing standards
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required
6+ years of progressive audit experience, with significant governmental audit exposure
Strong knowledge of governmental accounting standards, regulations, and reporting requirements
Proven experience managing multiple audit engagements and leading teams
Excellent analytical, communication, and client management skills
