The Qualified Electrical Technician (QET) supports Electrical Engineering activities such as testing, check-out, modification, fabrication, and assembly of miscellaneous electrical systems. The Technician will perform zero-volt verifications and panel inspections to ensure critical safety functions. The Technician must be experienced in performing maintenance and troubleshooting activities on electrical systems in a high-volume manufacturing environment. The individual will be working from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts, or defined plans to perform testing, checkout, and trouble-shooting functions. Essential Duties: Performing QET and electrical preventative maintenance support of 24/7 plant operations Providing on-call QET support to the plant, including breaker reset, LOTO confirmation, ZVV Check which includes LOTO, Planned System/Line shutdown Providing the Controls Production Support Team (CPST) with electrical systems expertise such as high power (480VAC and above) troubleshooting and modification, grounding/bonding, conduit work, and cable/wire pulls Performing electrical preventative maintenance (PM), including grounding/bonding issues, cable management, ensuring all electrical connections and/or terminations are secure/tight, and ensuring all control panels and junction boxes are clean and have a positive pressure clean/dry air system installed Perform normally scheduled electrical system maintenance Other miscellaneous duties may be assigned PPE Requirements:
To ensure health and safety in the workplace, PPE may include a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, and potentially a hazmat suit with a respirator. Respirator fit test required based on functional area. Qualifications: Education Basic/Required: High School Diploma or GED Preferred: None MUST-HAVES: Minimum of 3+ years of manufacturing electrical technician experience performing maintenance and electrical troubleshooting Experience maintaining and troubleshooting electrical systems and electromechanical control systems up to 480VAC Understanding of electrical hardware, schematics, wiring diagrams, and SOPs Experience performing maintenance and troubleshooting activities on control systems in a high-volume manufacturing environment Experience with various mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical control system components Must be able to work a 12-hour shift (day or night) to support 24/7 battery manufacturing QET and Electrical PM support Familiarity with industrial machinery design & safety regulations related to NEC NFPA 70E Able to pass the NFPA 70E exam and be CEST certified Ability to cooperate and work with related departments including overseas Strong documentation skills Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English NICE-TO-HAVES: 4+ years of manufacturing electrical technician experience performing maintenance and electrical troubleshooting Familiarity with wiring/cabling/grounding/shielding, wire gauge/terminations, and load/temperature requirements Familiarity with ISA standards and symbology Knowledge regarding electrical requirements in hazardous locations (Class I, Division 2) Experience with 480VAC panel installations Preferred License(s):
