About the Opportunity
We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Controller to lead Jack Archer’s accounting and financial control function. This role will own the day-to-day accounting operations, strengthen our financial reporting processes, and ensure we have the right controls in place to support scale. The Controller will be a critical partner to the CFO and leadership team, helping turn financial data into actionable insight and supporting decision-making across the business. What You’ll Do
Lead and manage all aspects of accounting operations, including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, inventory, and revenue recognition.
Establish, document, and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Own the month-end and year-end close process, delivering timely and accurate financial statements.
Partner with FP&A to deliver management reporting, variance analysis, and support forecasting and budgeting cycles.
Oversee sales tax, compliance, and regulatory filings.
Manage the external audit and tax preparation processes.
Support implementation and optimization of financial systems (e.g., NetSuite, Shopify integrations, etc.).
Provide accounting guidance on new initiatives (e.g., new product launches, wholesale distribution, international expansion).
Build and manage a small but scalable accounting team as the business grows.
What You Have
CPA strongly preferred.
7+ years progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role.
Experience in e-commerce, fashion, retail, or consumer goods preferred.
Solid knowledge of GAAP and technical accounting standards.
Strong systems orientation; prior experience with NetSuite (or similar ERP), Shopify, and inventory management tools a plus.
Hands-on, detail-driven, and comfortable in a high-growth, entrepreneurial environment.
Excellent communication and organizational skills; able to work cross-functionally with finance, operations, supply chain, and leadership.
