The Payroll Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of payroll-related financial data. This position focuses on payroll analytics, tax compliance, general ledger reconciliation, and union reporting to support financial operations and strategic decision-making.
What you will do...
Analyze payroll data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for process improvement. Review and Reconcile federal, state, and local payroll tax returns, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. Reconcile payroll-related general ledger journal entries and support month-end and year-end close processes. Generate and submit union reports in accordance with collective bargaining agreements. Collaborate with Finance and HR teams to ensure alignment between payroll, accounting, and benefits systems. Develop, maintain and distribute payroll reports for internal stakeholders. Support audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries from internal and external auditors. Assist in implementing system enhancements and automation initiatives related to payroll and reporting. Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in payroll analysis, tax filing, or financial reporting. Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations and general accounting principles. Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Workday, SAP, Oracle) and payroll platforms (e.g., ADP, UKG). Familiarity with union reporting requirements and collective bargaining agreements. Skills
Advanced Excel skills and experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau). Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Effective communication and collaboration across departments. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
