Property Accountant
Location: NYC onsite
Salary: $85,000-120,000 base
Base pay range $120,000.00/yr - $850,000.00/yr
Responsibilities
Manage monthly financial close and prepare financial statements for internal and external stakeholders
Review and reconcile daily banking transactions to maintain up-to-date records
Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy across all assigned properties
Process monthly mortgage payments, reserve transfers, and escrow activity
Complete bank reconciliations, including tenant security deposit accounts
Prepare year‑end journal entries and assist in audit and tax preparation
Support property tax filings and compliance requirements (e.g., NYC RPIE, certiorari applications, tax petitions)
Collaborate on special projects and process improvements as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
5+ years of professional accounting experience
Proficiency in Yardi property management software
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, etc.)
Experience with tax credit residential properties (a plus, but not required)
Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
