Insurance Collections Specialist - Medical Billing
Position details: Full-time, on-site. Location: Northbrook, IL. Hours: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. Base pay range: $25.00/hr - $30.00/hr (based on experience and qualifications). Overview
As an Insurance Collections Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and following up on outstanding insurance claims, resolving denials, and ensuring timely corrections for a high-volume portfolio. This position works closely with the Manager of Revenue Cycle. Key Responsibilities
Utilize a dialer to contact insurance companies and follow up on claim status, request payment, and resolve denials or delays. Review and work insurance denial codes and take corrective action as needed. Interact with USA Vein Clinics leadership and provide regular performance updates. Document all insurance interactions properly. Analyze and correct claims using appropriate CPT, ICD-10, and Dx codes. Resubmit corrected claims and appeals in a timely and accurate manner. Ensure all collection efforts comply with applicable rules and regulations. Requirements
3+ years of medical collections experience (clinic or hospital setting preferred). Must be able to work full-time onsite (remote work is not an option). Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills. Proficient in email, internet usage, payer websites, and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel). Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and Dx codes; proficiency in insurance denial management and EOB/EOR interpretation. Spanish fluency preferred. Benefits
