Base pay range $99,400.00/yr – $149,100.00/yr
Role Overview Become a
Senior Accountant
at Southern California Edison and build a better tomorrow. In this role you will lead financial master data governance within Corporate Accounting’s Financial Data Governance and Automation team, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial reporting processes. You will assist with the preparation, review, and governance of FERC Form 1 and Form 3‑Q filings, and support centralized efforts to identify, assess, prioritize, and support process and technology improvements.
Responsibilities
Initiate and prepare the general ledger and month‑end close entries.
Coordinate with internal staff and external accounting firm to facilitate the annual financial statement audit.
Execute the preparation, compilation, and review of monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Conduct a monthly variance analysis and identify variance causes and trends.
Gather data for a monthly cash report for management, detailing the current cash position for each bank account and reconciling all temporarily restricted fund balances.
Carry out the year‑end audit; compile and prepare supporting schedules, work papers, and financial reports as requested by auditors.
Facilitate the creation of various reports for financial, tax, and regulatory purposes.
Undertake financial analysis and support for quarterly forecasts and annual budgets.
Ensure protection of physical, financial, and cybersecurity assets and proper handling of private customer data and confidential information with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
Five or more years of experience in accounting.
Experience interpreting and applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field.
Experience and technical knowledge of Alteryx, Business Objects, Snowflake, Power Platform, SAS, Visual Basics, Python, or other financial automation tools/software.
Knowledge of SAP/ERP and/or PowerPlant applications/modules with deep understanding of related business processes.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
Additional Information
This position work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.
