Application Period: 10/14/2025 to 10/23/2025 Salary: $49,960 - $64,952 per year (GS-7) Location: Battle Creek, MI Work Schedule: Full‑time, Monday‑Friday 7:30 am‑4:00 pm (based on clinic needs) Open To: Federal employees, Facility Employees, Other Federal Employees, 30%+ Disabled Veterans, CTAP, ICTAP, Interchange, Schedule‑A, Reinstatement, T5 Transfer, VEOA, VRA Duties
Assist outpatient licensed staff with delivery of care to patients with complex, specialized, and potentially life‑threatening situations. Prepare patients for medical evaluation, set up equipment, pass instruments, and provide treatment during in‑person or virtual visits. Operate specialized medical equipment to obtain diagnostic and therapeutic outcomes. Collect a wide range of specimens and prepare them for transfer to processing. Observe patient status and inform licensed staff of any changes in condition. Recognize life‑threatening situations and act to correct these emergent situations according to established protocols. Perform clinical responsibilities such as vital signs, point‑of‑care testing, equipment and surgical instrumentation setup, treatments and interventions, wound care, specimen collection, patient exam assistance, mental health care, and telehealth peripheral use. Qualifications
Time‑in‑Grade Requirement : Current Federal employees must have held a GS grade for 52 weeks within the past 52 weeks. For GS‑7, must have served 52 weeks at GS‑6. Provide SF‑50 showing time‑in‑grade. Specialized Experience : Minimum one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS‑6 level. Experience must include recognition of life‑threatening situations, patient evaluation, behavioral/psychiatric assistance, and use of specialized equipment. Education : One year of graduate education or internship directly related to the position, at the next lower grade level, with official transcripts. Competencies : Clinical Data Collection/Documentation, Manages and Organizes Information, Medical Information, Multimedia Technologies, Patient Care, Specimen Collection. Physical Requirements : Extended periods of bending, standing, walking, and assisting patients.
