LHH is partnering with a non-profit organization on this Grant Accountant opportunity. This position will be a long-term contract opportunity where the right candidate will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of a portfolio of grants received by the organization. This includes coordinating with the budget team, preparing grant billings and ensuring that funds are used appropriately according to grant guidelines. You will work closely with program managers, finance teams, and grantors to ensure accurate financial management and reporting.
MUST have NYC/NYS grant experience. Responsibilities: Ensure compliance with grant regulations, including allowable expenses, reporting requirements, and audit standards. Monitor grant expenditures and cash flow to ensure funds are used efficiently and in accordance with grant guidelines. Coordinate the closeout process for grants, including final financial reports, reconciliations, and returning any unspent funds as required. Maintain accurate and organized financial records for all grant-related transactions. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred. Experience in grant accounting or financial management, preferably in a nonprofit or government organization. Strong knowledge of grant regulations, accounting principles, and financial reporting standards. Familiarity with federal, state, and private grant funding sources and requirements is a plus. Strong Excel skills are required. Pay:
