Overview

We’re partnering with a local company that’s looking for a

hands-on Cost Accountant

to take ownership of their cost structure and help bring visibility to the numbers behind production. This person will analyze BOMs, job costs, and inventory while working closely with operations and leadership to keep everything running efficiently and accurately. Base pay range

$75,000.00/yr - $82,000.00/yr What You’ll Be Doing

Maintain and update Bills of Materials (BOMs) to ensure all cost components are accurate. Perform job costing analysis to track labor, materials, and overhead. Build and manage Excel reports (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas) to highlight trends and insights. Oversee inventory processes—cycle counts, variances, and reconciliations. Support month-end close through journal entries, reconciliations, and cost reporting. Apply solid accounting principles to keep financial data accurate and compliant. Assist with budgets, forecasts, and cost variance analysis. Partner with operations and procurement to keep costing data up to date and help identify cost-saving opportunities. Use accounting and inventory tools (QuickBooks, Fishbowl, or similar systems) for day-to-day tracking. What We’re Looking For

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred; experience in place of degree is acceptable). 2-4 years of experience in manufacturing cost accounting. Strong Excel skills—you’re comfortable working with pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and formulas. Experience with QuickBooks, Fishbowl, or other similar accounting/inventory software. Knowledge of BOMs, job costing, and inventory control. Detail-oriented, analytical, and confident working both independently and cross-functionally.
