Regional Project Finance Manager
to join our team in

Primary Function Regional Project Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing revenue recognition and project financial tracking within the company, ensuring accurate reporting and profitability analysis. Key duties include managing the project accounting team, guiding them through budgeting, forecasting, and revenue recognition processes, while maintaining a focus on team development and internal controls. The position also involves working with the ERP system for project enrollments, maintenance, billing cycles, and receivables management, as well as assisting with audit support and acquisition integration. Effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders is essential, along with active participation in company-wide initiatives aimed at continuous improvement and quality assurance.
Candidate will also assist finance team, operations and management with other initiatives as needed.
Reports to Director- Project Finance
Responsibilities / Accountabilities
Management of revenue recognition
Serves as a resource to Management, Operations and Finance staff on revenue cycle performance
Work with Operations and Project Accounting Team to conduct project/group/practice profitability reviews each period and as needed to validate earnings
Identify, track and report on projects in financial distress
Investigate variances between actuals and budgets
Track and report on KPIs/financial trends for all projects
Assist with monthly close journal entries, reconciliations, and other analyses
Assist with project/group/practice budgeting, forecasting, and developing estimates to complete
Supervision of project accounting team
Carries out supervisory responsibilities for Project Accounting Team. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees, as well as planning, assigning, and directing work, address complaints and resolving problems
Mentor a team of Project Accountants, appraising performance, rewarding, and coaching employees to assist with their career advancement
Cultivate a team-oriented environment while emphasizing the Team’s customer service role within the company
Establish internal controls for procedures and practices in accordance with company policies, accounting procedures and contractual obligations related to project accounting
Oversight of project financial tracking within company ERP systems
Project Enrollments based on contract terms
Project Maintenance
Working with project team on keeping all project fields in ERP system updated/validated throughout project life cycle
Client reviews, tracking and assisting with set up
Vendor reviews, tracking and assisting with set up
Project Closeouts
Billing and Invoicing cycle
Receivables tracking and collections
Develop, plan, organize, and implement current and future strategies to bill clients, process payments, improve cash flow, and manage the overall health of the company’s receivables
Perform complex analysis of projects, vendors, clients as needed
Aide the acquisition integration team in the tasks of project accounting and revenue recognition; including conversion to company’s ERP system and financial reporting
Work with external auditors and assist with audit requests
Customer Service Internal & External
Effectively communicate with staff, management, vendors, and clients
Participates in company-wide initiatives as needed, to include quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives
Required Skills and Qualifications
Minimum Experience - High School Diploma and 10+ years’ experience OR Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years’ experience in project accounting with a primary focus on revenue recognition.
Strong initiative, attention to detail, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Strong communication skills, possessing the ability to work with employees throughout the organization, vendors, and clients, while building long‑distance positive relationships across offices.
Capability to work independently, be a problem solver, self‑starter, and adaptable.
Hardworking and adept to balance multiple priorities and to meet tight deadlines.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Products, particularly Excel.
Availability for occasional travel as needed between offices.
Capable of handling highly sensitive company data in a confident manner.
Demonstrate leadership qualities, excellent organizational and time management skills.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in engineering, construction, or professional services industry in a quick‑paced, high‑volume environment.
Familiarity with ERP systems; specifically, Deltek Vision, Vantagepoint and Ajera.
Ability to collaborate with other team members to achieve high quality work products.
Advanced Excel experience is preferred.
