We are seeking a skilled and experienced

Senior Accountant

to join our finance team. The Senior Accountant oversees the general accounting functions, provides monthly financial analysis and reports to leadership and ministry/department heads, leads the capital requisition process, and guides the annual audit process. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, preferably with a CPA designation and knowledge of tax regulations. A demonstrated ability to improve processes and systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness is essential. Responsibilities

Lead the monthly close process, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled in a timely manner. Prepare and/or review general ledger entries accurately and timely. Perform and/or review reconciliations of various accounts within the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal policies and GAAP. Prepare and file sales and use tax returns in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Manage capital expenditure requests and construction project reporting. Work closely with other departments to provide reports, financial insights, and support. Participate in special projects and help develop and maintain financial systems and policies. Coordinate annual audit between finance team and external auditing firm. Be available for occasional, flexible work schedule for after-hours or weekend assignments. Education / Licenses

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA designation preferred. Relevant Work Experience

5 - 7 years of accounting and/or audit experience, with a focus on church or ministry organizations preferred. Strong knowledge of tax regulations and compliance is beneficial. Proficiency in accounting software and strong Microsoft Excel skills; experience with Sage Intacct and Prophix is a plus. Must demonstrate the ability to perform high quality, detailed work with minimum supervision within assigned deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders. Strong people skills with a collaborative mindset and ability to work across teams. Proven record of identifying and implementing process improvements. Job Specs
