The Financial Advisor combines interpersonal skills with all the resources Southern Bank and Ameriprise to help community clients realize their financial goals. Financial Advisors are provided training to help them build their business, including attracting and servicing relationships with their clients and prospects. Financial Advisors are responsible for assessing a client’s circumstances and objectives and, based on that needs assessment, providing individualized, highly strategic investment consulting. Financial Advisors have access to a full range of wealth building, managing and preserving services through the Broker/Dealer, including mutual funds, stocks, bonds, managed accounts, ETFs, REITs, annuities, insurance and estate planning.
Responsibilities
Assess client portfolios and financial objectives; provide tailored investment guidance;
Build and manage relationships with affluent and high-net-worth clients using consultative, unbiased advisory approaches;
Prospect new clients and nurture existing relationships;
Recommend investment strategies aligned with client needs and goals;
Deliver financial planning and wealth management solutions;
Present seminars and educational sessions to clients and prospects;
Train bank personnel on identifying and referring potential clients;
Collaborate with bank leadership to integrate investment services across departments;
Stay current on industry trends, products, and compliance through ongoing training;
Represent Southern Bank in community events and activities; and
Ensure full compliance with industry regulations and standards.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Excellent oral and written communication skills;
Sales oriented with ability to interact with clients, understand their goals and financial needs, and recommend solutions;
Assertive, competitive, self-starter, goal-oriented and results-driven with an entrepreneurial spirit;
Highly self-motivated, creative, decisive; ability to respond effectively and quickly to clients’ needs and issues; excellent customer service skills;
Proficient with the complete Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, Outlook;
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; professional demeanor;
Ability to articulate complex concepts clearly.
Education, Training And Experience Requirements
FINRA Series 7, 63 & 65 or Series 7 & 66 (Required);
Life & Health Insurance License (Required);
Clean U-4 and U-5 history;
Ability to retain 60%+ of current book of business during transition to Ameriprise;
Minimum 5 years as a producing advisor; and
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
