Overview
The Data Center Senior Engineer will be responsible for the data center infrastructure projects and day-to-day activities of the Data Center Services (DCS) group. The DCS team is responsible for the planning, installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of all server hardware/devices. This is a 12 month contract position with potential for contract to hire. Responsibilities
Support data center infrastructure projects and day-to-day activities of the Data Center Services group. Plan, install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain server hardware and related devices in a large-scale enterprise data center. Perform hardware troubleshooting, break/fix, and configurations for IBM, EMC, Dell, Cisco, and other vendors. Manage cabling (level 1 cabling for hardware and structured cabling) and adhere to cabling standards. Utilize ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or DCIM tools (Sunbird or Nlyte) for incident tracking and capacity planning requests. Note: Previous experience within a mainframe environment is a plus; experience with capacity planning is also a plus. Qualifications
4+ years of data center experience in a fast-paced environment. Hardware troubleshooting, installation, configurations, and break/fix for components from IBM, EMC, Dell, Cisco, and similar vendors. Cabling experience and knowledge of cabling standards (level 1 cabling for hardware and structured cabling). Familiarity with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or DCIM (SunBird or Nlyte) is preferred. Experience in a mainframe environment is a plus. Experience with capacity planning is a plus.
