ColonialWebb is seeking individuals with mechanical experience or AutoCAD knowledge to join our team as Fabrication Designer. In this role, you will convert sheet metal, plumbing, and piping design documents into workshop drawings. Our fabrication department will use these workshop drawings to build mechanical systems for construction projects such as data centers, high rises, government facilities, universities, secondary schools, and hospitals.

A day in the life:
Review sheet metal, plumbing, and piping mechanical drawings and convert them into fabrication drawings using AutoCAD/Revit
Prepare accurate drawings/spool sheets for fabrication
Work collaboratively with the Virtual Construction Team and Fabrication Coordinator to ensure drawings are fabricated most efficiently and cost-effectively
Provide accurate estimates to the Fabrication Coordinator for the completion of shop drawings
Communicate with the Fabrication Coordinator and Virtual Construction Team on any upcoming items required to facilitate the fabrication process
You should have:
Knowledge of plumbing, sheet metal, or HVAC systems (preferred, not required)
Understanding and ability to work with 3D CAD detailing, design, and software
Ability to read and interpret drawings, plans, blueprints, submittals, and specifications
Experience and demonstrated skills working with Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent attention to detail
High energy level to handle dynamic, evolving, and fast-paced workload
Initiative; self-motivated (driven), self-starter
Skillful listener, with excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
