Applicants must be a graduate of the FBI Hazardous Device School (HDS) and hold a current certification or be eligible for recertification in accordance with FBI HDS standards. Law Enforcement Investigator II requirement: Three (3) or more years of sworn law enforcement experience.
College education can be substituted at the rate of 30 semester or 45 quarter hours per year for a maximum of one (1) year required experience.

Successfully completed mandated training programs required by Florida Statute, DFS, and Division. Provide training and technical assistance to new investigators on the requirements and duties associated with the Bureau. OTHER KSAs (Incumbent may learn on job): Knowledge of:
fire behavior, chemistry, and burn patterns; key personnel in the law enforcement, legal, and fire service communities; the Bureau’s Augmented Crime Information Support System (ACISS).
Ability to:
use the Bureau’s Augmented Crime Information Support System (ACISS); interpret burn patterns and analyze other information to determine the cause and origin of a fire. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: The duties of this position require a constituted law enforcement officer subject to be on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The incumbent is required to bear firearms. The incumbent is required to maintain certification as a Law Enforcement Officer pursuant to Chapter 943, Florida Statutes. EOD Duties Conducts explosives investigations and render safe procedures in support of other Division members, local, state, and federal partners. Provide for the safe resolution of both criminal and non-criminal incidents involving incendiary devices and/or explosives. Conduct post blast scene investigations; collect and preserve evidence; follow-up investigations; provide technical support to special operations. Prepare and submit accurate reports and documentation as required. Provide educational programs addressing industry partners and citizen groups. When requested, the incumbent assists other agencies in law enforcement activities resulting from natural disasters and civil disturbances. Establish and maintain liaison with public safety partners and the general public through public education and training.
