Under the direction of ITS-3, SG-23, within the Dedicated Support/OTDA/Development Support, the position serves as the developer for Visual Studio open systems applications including PTS (Project Tracking System), WLM (Workload Management System), PHRED (Production Hosting of Enterprise Documents), and MATS (Mainframe Access Terminal Security). Developing new applications when a need is identified Adding new functions to existing applications Ensuring applications use the newest versions of technology Designing database tables for applications Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications Open Competitive: a bachelor’s or higher-level degree including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science. OR a bachelor’s or higher-level degree in any field and one year of IT experience; OR 60 semester credit hours including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science and one year of professional IT experience. OR two years of professional IT experience. Promotion: Open to NYS employees with one year of permanent competitive service as an Information Technology Specialist 1, Salary Grade (SG) 14. Transfer: Open to NYS employees with one year of permanent competitive service as an Information Technology Specialist 2 or Information Technology Specialist 2 Programming, G-18; OR in a title G-16 or above deemed administrative under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law. 55b/c Appointment: This position is eligible for 55b/c designation and candidates are encouraged to apply. Please Note Appointment to this position and continued employment with the agency is contingent upon New York State residency within six months of hiring. Appointment to this position is not final until all agency approvals have been granted. Additional Comments ITS will not offer permanent employment to any candidate unless the candidate is authorized to accept work in the United States on a permanent basis. Some positions may require fingerprinting, travel up to 25%, and/or lifting up to 50 lbs. Other details: NY HELPS location pay adjustments for certain locations (e.g., downstate or Mid-Hudson). During the NY HELPS program, appointments may be non-competitive; potential conversion to competitive status is expected within one year of permanent appointment.
