Overview Our company is seeking a collaborative Scrum Master with experience facilitating Scrumban or Kanban in IT Operations or infrastructure environments. Under general supervision, you will focus on supporting cross‑functional Agile teams within one or more Agile Release Trains (ARTs), enabling sustainable delivery of operations solutions, incident management, and continuous improvement. This role goes beyond traditional Scrum practices to adapt Agile methodologies for complex operational teams working with mixed‑mode workflows, such as maintaining both unplanned incidents and planned projects.

The ideal candidate will proactively organize and prioritize incoming work—balancing backlog refinement and urgent issues—while ensuring the team remains aligned with Program Increment (PI) goals and enterprise objectives. They will facilitate daily stand‑ups and essential Scrum ceremonies, including sprint reviews, retrospectives, and PI planning, to promote transparency, collaboration, and continual improvement.

This Scrum Master will be an Agile advocate and guardian of the team focus, flexible and adaptive, ensuring impediment removal, smooth flow of work, and blocker removal through Kanban/Scrumban boards. Participation in Scrum‑of‑Scrums sessions and ART syncs will be “day‑in‑the‑life”. Hands‑on experience with SAFe ceremonies, cross‑team collaboration, and distributed team facilitation is essential, as is the ability to work within an environment where traditional product owner roles may be distributed or limited.

Applicants should expect:

A blend of Scrum, Kanban, and Scrumban practices: planned and urgent work, dual board setup, and PI‑focused quarterly planning.

PI planning with program board, dependency mapping, cross‑team syncs, and risk management is core to delivery cadence.

Team structure is operational and engineering‑centric with distributed ownership and no classic product owner—ability to align diverse stakeholders needed. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Requirements

Experience facilitating Agile/Scrumban in IT operations, infrastructure, or service environments.

Experience coordinating teams as part of an Agile Release Train (ART) or exposure to PI Planning and ART syncs.

Comfortable working without strict product owner roles, aligning stakeholders using SAFe program artifacts and value delivery.

Strong servant leadership, facilitation, and retrospective skills, with a focus on safety and systems thinking.

Ability to track work and dependencies using agile tools (e.g., Jira) and Kanban/Scrumban boards.

Hands‑on SAFe knowledge and ART participation are essential. No substitutions for direct, hands‑on experience.

Scrumban/IT operations experience is prioritized over pure software scrum, with strong bonus for handling mixed‑mode flow (incident + project).

Ability to facilitate PI Planning, dependencies, and risk ROAMing is crucial—open to smart simplifications for environment needs.

Job Duties: Facilitate daily stand‑ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and PI planning for operational teams practicing a blend of Scrumban, Kanban, and Scrum.

Guide the team in balancing planned and unplanned work, by leveraging capacity planning, WIP limits, and focus metrics to optimize flow.

Enable PI planning, dependency mapping, and execution monitoring for IT operations objectives, collaborating with Release Train Engineers (RTEs) and ART stakeholders.
