Overview
Personal Financial Counselor - Wausau, WI Join to apply for the Personal Financial Counselor role at Magellan Federal. This position provides personal financial services at assigned military installations, including education and counseling for service members and their families. Responsibilities
Provide personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families. Assist service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences. Develop and make available informational financial materials to service members and families. Coordinate, publicize and provide a wide variety of Personal Financial Management classes/workshops across the military lifecycle (e.g., arrival at first duty station, pre- and post-deployment, and other events per DoDI 1322.34). Respond to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars. Utilize virtual counseling or other electronic communication methods as appropriate (web-based, secure online chat, video communications). Virtual PFC support may require authorization from the OSD FINRED Program office. Manage duty to warn situations according to DoD protocol. Communicate with leadership and participate in regular supervision, sharing trends and issues from the installations. Participate in regular in-services/training and quality improvement activities as assigned. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; may consider an associate degree with 4 years’ experience or a high school diploma with 6 years’ experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree. 3+ years of financial counseling experience. U.S. citizen; fluent English; bilingual in English and Spanish if required by contract. Ability to obtain a favorable Tier 2 investigation. Certification: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC). General Information
