Overview
The position of Personal Financial Counselor is located at Grissom Army Reserve Base, IN and reports to Magellan Federal. The role provides personal financial services at assigned military installations and supports service members and their families through counseling, education, and referral resources. Responsibilities
Provide personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families. Assist service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences. Develop and make available informational financial materials to service members and families. Coordinate, publicize and conduct a wide variety of Personal Financial Management classes/workshops across the military lifecycle (e.g., arrival at first duty station, pre- and post-deployment, and other events per DoDI 1322.34). Respond to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars. Utilize virtual counseling or other electronic modes of communication (web-based, secure online chat, video-based, or secure teleconference) as appropriate; virtual PFC support may be authorized by the OSD FINRED Program office. Manage duty-to-warn situations according to DoD protocol. Communicate with leadership and participate in regular supervision, sharing trends and issues on assigned installations. Participate in regular in-services/training, quality improvement committees, or other contract activities as assigned. Perform all other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required. May consider an associate degree plus 4 years of experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree. May consider a high school diploma plus 6 years of experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree. 3+ years of financial counseling experience. U.S. citizen and fluent in English; bilingual in English and Spanish if required by the contract. Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation. One of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC). General Job Information
