Technical Accounting Manager
Location:
Fully Remote (U.S.-based) - EST hours
Compensation:
$150,000 – $200,000 total compensation
Role Overview We’re seeking a strategic and detail-driven accounting leader to help drive accuracy, compliance, and financial clarity. This role reports to the VP of Finance, with an immediate focus on cleaning up and optimizing our NetSuite Chart of Accounts (COA), laying the groundwork for scale, audit readiness, and cross-functional alignment.

Responsibilities
Lead the preparation of financial statements and disclosures in accordance with US GAAP and statutory principles.
Own the cleanup, optimization, and long-term structure of the NetSuite Chart of Accounts.
Provide guidance on complex transactions such as reinsurance, investments, and revenue recognition.
Collaborate with auditors and regulatory agencies, preparing documentation and responses.
Support SOX/internal controls over financial reporting.
Partner with actuarial, finance, legal, and compliance teams to align accounting policies.
Identify and implement process improvements for accuracy, automation, and scalability.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or Master’s preferred)
5+ years in public or corporate accounting, ideally in warranty, insurance, or financial services
Strong experience with NetSuite, including COA design/cleanup and integrations
Deep knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting
Exceptional analytical, communication, and organizational skills
Advanced Excel proficiency
