Focal Point Care is seeking a healthcare Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. Candidates should have prior experience in the Skilled Nursing/Long Term Care industry, and be familiar with Sage Intacct. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing insightful financial analysis to support decision-making. This position is essential for maintaining the integrity of our financial reporting and contributing to the overall success of our organization. Base pay range
$85,000.00/yr - $100,000.00/yr Responsibilities
Prepare and review monthly financial statements for multiple nursing home facilities Manage the full month-end close process to ensure accurate and timely reporting Prepare and post recurring and non-recurring journal entries (e.g., accruals, amortizations, prepaid expenses) Reconcile key balance sheet accounts including cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, intercompany balances, and accrued expenses Review general ledger activity to ensure proper coding and classification of transactions Tie out revenue to census data and validate payer mix allocations (Medicare/Medicaid/Private) Analyze variances against prior periods and provide explanations to management and facility operators Coordinate with facility teams to obtain necessary supporting documentation for close items Track and reconcile management fees, lease payments, and related-party transactions Ensure all month-end close tasks and financial reporting adhere to internal deadlines and external reporting requirements Assist with preparing workpapers for Medicaid and Medicare cost reports Prepare schedules for external auditors and assist with audit-related requests Identify opportunities to improve close timelines and enhance process efficiency Support ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as needed Qualifications
Candidates should have 5-7 years of healthcare accounting experience, specifically in the Skilled Nursing/Long Term Care industry. This is an in-office position, so reliable transportation to either our Lakewood, NJ or Brooklyn, NY office is required. Details
