The VDC/BIM Engineer (Virtual Design in Construction/Building Information Modeling) is responsible for providing modeling expertise and technical support across estimating, project management, field operations, and other disciplines. This role plays a critical part in ensuring seamless project execution by developing accurate 3D and 2D design models, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and supporting construction activities. The VDC/BIM Engineer will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and foremen to deliver high-quality construction documents and models.

Responsibilities

Perform VDC/BIM coordination with multiple disciplines to resolve conflicts and ensure accurate models.

Develop 3D models in Revit and generate 2D construction drawings for fabrication and installation.

Prepare detailed layouts for power, lighting, and control systems, including all necessary views and dimensions.

Collaborate with project managers, electrical foremen, engineers, and other stakeholders to support construction coordination and field installation.

Provide technical expertise and support to the engineering team throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

Revit expertise required; 2–5 years of proven proficiency with Revit 2020.

2–3 years of experience in an electrical contracting company (preferred) and/or an architectural/engineering firm.

Familiarity with AutoCAD 2020, Navisworks 2020, and Bluebeam 2020 (preferred).

Autodesk Certified Professional (ACP) in Revit strongly preferred.

Experience with laser scanning and/or Trimble robotics layout station a plus.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently, set priorities, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.

Willingness to travel 10–20% to job sites across multiple states.
