Northeast Delta Human Services Authority is seeking a

Social Service Counselor 4-A to assess, design, implement, coordinate, and evaluate specialized social service programs for participants based on assessment and other pertinent data. This role is responsible for training in caseload principle and practices to ensure compliance with federal and state regulation and agency policy and procedures.

Six years of social services experience; OR

Six years of full-time experience in any field plus three years of social services experience; OR

A bachelor's degree plus three years of social services experience; OR

An advanced degree in a social sciences field plus two years of social services experience.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Positions that provide addictive disorder counseling or prevention services will require certification or eligibility for certification issued by the Addictive Disorder Regulatory Authority (ADRA), or its successor.The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found

Job Duties:

A Tobacco Treatment Specialist oversees an initial assessment to determine dosing of Nicotine Replacement, triggers, prior quit attempts and other important information needed to develop and individualized treatment plan with client centered determinants. This role is also responsible for developingand dispersing education material that assists cessation efforts.

Records progress in ClaimTrak, communicating with treatment team, and working with Primary Doctors and other prescribers using comprehensive, evidence-based strategies with clients identified as tobacco users, is the primary task of the TTS. Works as part of a treatment team to provide quality care and reduce the stigma surrounding behavioral health (mental health or substance use) treatment. Also, works cooperatively the Health and Wellness Department to attend Community Health Fairs and shares the responsibility of educating the public of the many services available. Completes orders for Nicotine Replacement Therapy as needed and works collaboratively with Genoa Pharmacy to dispense NRT's to clients. TTS maintains communication with all phone inquiries concerning smoking, providing services or referrals as needed. Attends educational events to stay abreast of the most current treatment protocols and evidence-based compliance. Presents on tobacco related issues as requested and maintains information material to share with staff and client. Position-Specific Details: Appointment Type:

NEDHSA is a designated approved National Health Service Corps (NHSC) site. Clinicians who work at NHSC-approved sites are eligible to apply to the NHSC Loan Repayment Program to pay off student loans. 2-year Full-Time Clinical Practice: NHSC will pay up to $50,000* for an initial 2 years of full-time clinical practice to clinicians. (Full-time clinical practice is defined as no less than 40 hours per week, for a minimum of 45 weeks per year.)
