FORENSIC AUDITOR I (INSPECTOR GENERAL) (CLASS CODE 0700)

Professional specialized, advanced and lead level auditing work planning, managing and executing audits and reviews of projects and programs involving the expenditure of public funds. Work includes carrying out audits and audit related activities under the guidelines of Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS). Work also includes providing targeted forensic accounting in assistance with investigations, inspections and performance reviews conducted by the Office of the Inspector General to determine efficiency, effectiveness and productivity of government programs. In addition, work includes recommending new systems to enhance and maximize performance; and related work as required.
EITHER:
A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in accounting or a related field with at least twenty-four (24) hours (or 21 graduate level) of specific accounting and 24 hours of business courses (excluding accounting hours) with a minimum of 150 total credit hours from an accredited college or university.
Active license as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or active Certification as a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
One (1) year of professional auditing experience participating in audits performed in accordance with standards specified by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants or standards specified by the Comptroller General of the United States (Yellow Book).
A valid driver's license must be presented to the hiring agency prior to appointment into this job classification. Applicants must have an excellent driving record.
OR:

No probationary period may last longer than one year. Failure to obtain an active Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certification as a Certified Inspector General Auditor (CIGA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) during the probationary period will result in termination. Employees terminated under this provision must wait one year from the date of termination or obtain one of the above listed certificates to be rehired. NOTE:
