Summary:

Keeps working area and equipment in processing facility clean and sanitary for production. Works in a lead capacity overseeing work of and working with sanitation team.

Ensures proper use and complete compliance of Trident Seafoods lockout/Tagout (LOTO) program across all levels of sanitation crew. All Equipment is to be properly LOTO and de-energized prior to, “tear-down”, cleaning, and reassembly. Sanitation Crew will not be permitted to clean, work under, or be in extreme proximity to moving equipment.

Note: Sanitation Lead I residing in Trident housing will be subject to a co-pay of fifteen dollars per day for room and board, for each day that at least 8 hours of work is offered.

Assists with training of sanitation crew.

Assigns duties and tasks as needed.

Ensures proper use of protective gear, and safe use of chemical cleaning agents.

Trained in proper chemical use, mixing, and handling.

Ensures compliance with all safety practices.

Performs activities of workers supervised.

Employees working in Alaska are advised to have medical insurance coverage which is valid in the State of Alaska.

Qualifications Required Qualifications (education, years of experience, KSAs)

Must be a current Trident Seafoods employee or have worked for Trident Seafoods before

One year experience for external candidates

Ability to read and/or understand two and three syllable words and recognize similarities between words and between a series of numbers.

Preferred education and experience

In some locations this position may be responsible for creating and maintaining reports, therefore a greater comprehension of written information and instruction and the ability to communicate both written and verbal reports may be required.

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Additional eligibility requirements (language skills, training, certifications, DL, licensing):

May be trained to work on a variety of equipment, such as electric pallet jack or scissor lift.

May be assigned additional duties which may include janitorial duties in the plant.

May schedule sanitation plan (or assist on scheduling of sanitation plan).

May be assigned to assist with production as requested or needed.

Will perform duties and tasks same as sanitation keys and workers as needed.

Works with FSQA for guidance, and compliance.

Work environment and additional details Work environment (includes travel/on-call): While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
