We offer outstanding undergraduate and graduate (MS) programs in Fisheries Biology. We also have two affiliated cooperative programs, The Pacific Coast Ocean Observing System (PaCOOS) and CA Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit. We provide hands-on, field-oriented programs with a strong interplay between classroom theory and field laboratory practice. Our facilities include our Fish Hatchery, Fish Collection, the Research Vessel Coral Sea, and our Telonicher Marine Laboratory. Cal Poly Humboldt prepares students with knowledge, skills, and motivation to conserve fish and aquatic resources, leaving with fish ecology, fisheries techniques, quantitative, and management skills. Courses offered by the department include: Water Resources & Conservation, Ichthyology, Limnology, U.S. & World Fisheries, Aquaculture, Mariculture, Ecology of Freshwater Fish, Ecology of Marine Fish, Fish Population Dynamics, River Fish Restoration Ecology, Fisheries Oceanography, and related topics. MS in Fisheries Biology or related field and successful teaching experience in the field are required. Preferred qualifications include PhD; relevance of training to appropriate area, teaching effectiveness as evidenced by supervisors, colleagues, or students. Position Type:

Dependent on qualifications and experience. The salary schedule information for the Lecturer – Academic Year Classification is available based on ranges. Appointees are typically placed at the beginning of the range. The full-time base salaries are prorated to the number of units worked.
