Responsible for assisting members with transactions in the branch including but not limited to deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and new accounts. Assist members with online banking, mobile banking, and special requests. Work with Branch Manager on IRA’s, Decedent Accounts, and discrepancies. Cover for and assist Branch Manager with vault and branch reconciliation, ATM balancing, and order cash for the branch. Complete all required training assigned by the Credit Union and Our Company. Knowledge of procedures, regulations, and compliance. Other duties as needed and requested by Branch Manager or Higher-level Manager.
Stand in for Branch Manager duties when necessary, including opening/closing vault, ordering cash, balancing the ATMs.
Initiate/verify member wires.
Ensure the teller station and branch is properly stocked with forms, supplies, and brochures.
Assist members with IRA questions and withdrawal/deposit requests, including opening accounts. Make sure all documents are completed correctly and filed appropriately.
Greet and welcome members to the credit union in a courteous, professional, and timely manner, providing prompt, accurate, and efficient member transactions.
Process share drafts/checks and cash for deposit to accounts, verify amounts, examine share drafts/checks for proper endorsement, and enter deposits into the computer.
Cash share drafts/checks and process withdrawals; pay out money after verification of signatures and member balances.
Assist with mail or email transactions.
Maintain an up-to-date comprehensive knowledge on all credit union products and services that are handled by the teller area or branch.
Maintain an up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge on all related policies and procedures, rules, and regulations for the teller area.
Promote, explain, and cross-sell other credit union services such as consumer and mortgage loans, IRA’s, credit cards, debit cards, online banking, and mobile banking.
Receive loan payments and ensure the payments match the amount due. Enter payments in the computer as needed.
Place proper holds on checks and place holds as needed on uncollected funds.
Balance cash drawer at the end of the day and compare totaled amounts to computer-generated proof sheets. Research and resolve discrepancies. Report any discrepancies to the supervisor and report to COO in accordance with the Over/Short Policy.
Assist with adding beneficiaries (including trusts) to accounts and make folders as needed.
Assist with decedent accounts when needed.
Make sure all sensitive materials are filed daily.
Assist with balancing the vault and ATMs as needed.
Work cases in Relationship Manager and Co-Op daily.
Work cases in Silver Cloud and respond professionally and in a timely manner.
Education/Requirements:
Minimum education - High School Diploma/GED
2 years banking/credit union experience
