Blackhawk Ministries is located on the Northeast side of Fort Wayne,Indiana. Blackhawk is a vibrant faith community committed to strongbiblical teaching and dedication to spreading the love of God throughoutthe community and around the world for over 50 years. Under theleadership of a new Lead Pastor who started in 2023, we haveexperienced consistent growth and renewed unity and momentum. OurSunday worship experience encourages members to encounter Godthrough expositional preaching and modern worship. Blackhawk Ministries is also home to Blackhawk Christian School, whichour founding pastor, Dr. David Jeremiah, began in 1973 with 33 studentsenrolled. Five decades later, we continue to grow and thrive, with 100+faculty and staff serving over 1,000 Pre-K through 12th-grade students.
With over 150,000 square feet of facility and a newly-renovated worshipcenter that seats 1600, our church and school are well poised for cityand regional impact.

Purpose:
The role of the Blackhawk Kids Director is to provide leadership,development, and direction for the Kids leaders and volunteers as itpertains to the vision, mission, and strategy of all environments ofBlackhawk Ministries. The Kids Director provides direct oversight to allChildren’s Ministries (birth – 4th grade), which includes Sunday morningChildren’s Ministry programs for both worship service times andChildren’s Ministry-related events outside of Sunday morning.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Provide vision, strategy, and development for children's ministriesfrom birth through 4th gradeProvide leadership, direction, training, and oversight for all Kidsleaders and volunteers with a willingness to address areas of growthby balancing truth and graceBuild and equip the necessary teams to execute engaging ministryfor all childrenDevelop and maintain safe, secure, clean, and aesthetic childhoodlearning environmentsEncourage parents as the primary spiritual leaders in their child's lifeand provide the tools they need for spiritual leadershipSeek to develop relationships with families and connect with parentsand children regularly on Sunday mornings and throughout theweekWork closely with the Next Gen staff (Middle School Director) toensure a smooth transition of students to youth ministryCreate and effectively manage the Kids budgetOversee the Kids section of the church website in collaboration withthe Communications TeamProvide opportunities for ministry—local and global outreach
Demonstrated a track record of spiritual maturity and characterconsistent with the biblical requirements for leadership (1 Timothy3:17, Titus 1:6-9, 1 Peter 5:1-4)Commitment to the mission, vision, and ministry philosophy ofBlackhawk MinistriesPassion for children's ministryStrong leadership abilityEffective interpersonal skillsProven organizational and time management skills with the ability tomanage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain organizedsystemsTechnological proficiency with Planning Center Online and GoogleWorkspace (or similar platforms)Attitude of confidentialityTeam player
