Overview

(Senior) Scientist for Analytical Characterization – Mass spectrometry and biophysical characterization of antibody-based biologics, including multispecific antibodies and ADCs. Based in Symphogen, the Antibody Center of Excellence within the Servier Group. (2-year Maternity Cover) We are seeking a candidate to join the Analytical Characterization team. The department comprises 25 scientists and technicians and supports lead selection, preclinical and clinical development, and commercialization of antibody-based therapeutic products for cancer and neurology. Responsibilities

Support early research projects with analytical characterization by mass spectrometry (intact, subunit, peptide level by Orbitrap MS) and biophysical methods (DLS, nanoDSF, MFI, etc.) Perform general tests for antibody biologics (HPLC, CE, iCIEF, etc.) to select lead candidates with favorable developability properties Develop analytical methods for testing antibodies and present high-quality analytical data and interpretation to enable science-driven decisions Collaborate with cross-functional teams within Symphogen, Servier, and CMOs to advance analytical capabilities and workflows Contribute to innovation and continuous improvement of analytical workflows in coordination with team scientists and technicians Qualifications

A scientific background in biochemistry, structural biology, engineering, pharma or related fields Experience with mass spectrometric characterization of biopharmaceuticals, preferably antibodies by LC-MS/MS (peptide mapping, intact mass) Experience with biophysical characterization of biopharmaceuticals and general analytical techniques (HPLC, CE-SDS, iCIEF) Knowledge of developability assessment of antibodies Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal) Personal attributes: self-driven, pragmatic, collaborative, with good project management and interpersonal skills to coordinate across multiple stakeholders in different project groups.
