Sales Agronomist III - Iowa We are hiring multiple sales agronomists in Northeast Iowa, South Iowa, and Northwest Iowa. Please specify your preferred region in your application.

The Sales Agronomist (SA) is a key local expert on Bayer Crop Science products, technology, and innovations. You will advise growers to achieve in-season success, foster business growth by building relationships, and provide agronomic insights throughout the season. Your expertise will help expand Bayer's market share and ensure effective execution of agronomic strategies from planning to harvest.

Your Tasks and Responsibilities

Develop comprehensive Bayer portfolio business plans with Field Sales Representatives (FSRs) for your assigned region, focusing on high-growth growers.

Build relationships with key growers, offering agronomic support, product advice, and recommendations.

Lead demand generation plans and support team efforts to meet squad goals.

Provide agronomic advice on whole-farm management, including education and product placement, staying informed on agricultural research.

Drive Bayer portfolio trials with targeted growers.

Support seasonal milestones such as crop planning, in-season needs, scouting, and harvest monitoring.

Collaborate with FSRs, TAs, and partners to understand and influence growers’ business goals.

Address performance issues and support key grower needs during the season, including PPIs and replanting.

Make strategic recommendations to leadership for business improvements.

Engage with peers on programs and issues for alignment and resolution support.

Monitor grower account inventory, track activities, and identify new opportunities throughout the year.

Manage an annual SG&A budget and program expenditures.

Travel approximately 60%, involving significant face-to-face customer interactions.

Qualifications Required:

Effective communication skills for interacting with organizations and individuals, building relationships.

Knowledge of Bayer products, practices, and initiatives.

Strategic thinking using business insights for decision-making.

Digital fluency with industry tools and data-driven decision skills.

Strong analytical, sales, negotiation, and influence skills with a proven results track record.

Excellent facilitation, presentation, writing, and conflict management skills.

Ability to develop strategic relationships and influence customer behavior quickly.

Effective task management and multitasking abilities.

Strong networking and consultative sales skills.

Ability to learn and apply agronomic knowledge to meet customer needs.

Must be able to drive, possibly under DOT/FMCSA regulations, safely hauling trailers, products, and equipment.

Preferred:

Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, business, or related field.

At least 8 years of relevant experience in agronomy, technology, sales, or marketing.

Experience working with remote sales teams.

Salary is estimated between $89,600 and $134,400, with potential bonuses or commissions. Benefits include health care, dental, vision, retirement, PTO, and more. Actual compensation may vary based on location, experience, and other factors.
